Gráinneog


Her name is Irish Gaelic for Hedgehog, it was believed that witches took on this prickly form to suckle milk from cows. Literally, Gráinneog means 'the ugly one' or 'horrible one.' Not that this dear one is either but she does despair of the bristling spines that tear her pretty dress and tangle her hair...
